Digital printing
Prints directly from a digital file with no setup plates - ideal for small quantities, quick turnaround, and jobs where a few pieces need slightly different details (like names or numbers).
Offset printing
Uses printing plates and is far more cost-effective at higher volumes, with slightly more color consistency across large runs - but has a longer setup time and isn't practical for small quantities.
A simple rule of thumb
- Under ~500 units, varied content, or tight deadline -> digital
- Large runs (1,000+) of the same design -> offset
