Resolution
Use images at 300 DPI at final print size. Web images (usually 72 DPI) look sharp on screen but pixelate badly once printed.
Bleed and safe zone
Extend background colors/images 3mm past the trim edge (bleed) so no white sliver appears after cutting, and keep important text at least 3-5mm inside the trim edge (safe zone).
Color mode: CMYK, not RGB
Screens display in RGB; printers use CMYK ink. Colors - especially bright blues, greens, and neons - can shift noticeably if a file isn't converted to CMYK before printing.
File formats
PDF (print-ready, with fonts embedded/outlined) is preferred. Editable Word or PowerPoint files often need adjustment before they're truly print-ready.
