1+1 vs 1+2 Copy NCR Books: Which Invoice Book Does Your Business Need? – Yalla Printing UAE

Ordering an NCR bill book for the first time usually comes down to one decision: one duplicate, or two? It sounds minor, but it changes how the record moves through your business — so it's worth thinking through before you order rather than after.

The 1+1 format

A 1+1 book gives you a white original and a single duplicate, typically yellow. The original goes to the customer, the duplicate stays with you. It's the simpler configuration, and it's the right call when one internal copy is genuinely enough — a single retailer logging their own sales, a technician handing over a job card with one office copy behind it, a freelancer issuing receipts. It's also the more economical option, since there's one less sheet per set.

The 1+2 format

A 1+2 book adds a second duplicate — usually a pink sheet — on top of the white original and yellow copy. That third sheet exists for a reason: in businesses where a transaction needs to be seen by two separate internal teams (operations and accounting, for instance), the extra copy means neither team has to photocopy, forward, or hunt down the other team's paperwork. A logistics company is a good example: the driver hands the white sheet to the customer, the yellow copy goes to the operations desk, and the pink copy goes straight to accounts for reconciliation — all from one signature, at the point of delivery.

How to decide

  • If only one part of your business ever needs to see the record after the customer walks away — 1+1 is enough.
  • If two departments each need their own physical copy without extra admin — 1+2 saves real time.
  • If you're not sure, 1+1 is the lower-cost starting point, and most printers can switch you to 1+2 on a reorder once you know your actual workflow.

Sizing and branding are identical either way

Both formats are commonly produced in A5 (148 × 210 mm), printed in a single ink colour, and fully customised with your logo, contact details and TRN before anything goes to print — the copy count is really the only structural difference between the two.
